Where Should Andrew Harper Go in 2026?

Each year, my editorial team and I try to cover as much of the world as possible. When choosing where to go, we consider numerous factors, one of the most important being where Andrew Harper members would like us to go. We regularly receive correspondence suggesting destinations, but as part of the Members’ Choice Awards, we wanted to specifically encourage people to send more ideas. We asked directly: Where Should Andrew Harper Go in 2026?

Members wrote to us before all the 2025 issues of the Hideaway Report had been circulated, and I’m pleased to say that we’ve already covered a few of the suggestions, such as Santa Monica, St. Lucia and India’s Golden Triangle.

We reviewed Regent Santa Monica Beach in the June 2025 issue of the Hideaway Report  – Tanveer Badal Photography

Several respondents requested more coverage of hotels in United States national parks. One noted, “Most of the in-park options that I am aware of are not good” — and therein lies the problem. Most of the options are simply not good. When properties with potential do open in or near national parks, they are always a priority for us. Other domestic destinations popped up, but not necessarily the usual suspects on the coasts. In fact, members mentioned the Midwest as often as anywhere, notably Traverse City and Mackinac Island in Michigan.

In the June 2025 issue of the Hideaway Report we also reviewed the Six Senses Fort Barwara in India’s Golden Triangle.

Outside the U.S., the Mediterranean region came up frequently, with members suggesting places like Monaco, Malta, Sicily, Greece and Israel, all of which we’d love to revisit soon. But suggestions spanned the globe, ranging from popular countries like Japan and the Bahamas to more unusual destinations like Georgia, Uruguay, Lithuania and the “Stans.”

Other members focused on themes rather than places, requesting more coverage of options for both single travelers and families.

One thing the survey responses made clear is that Andrew Harper members have an insatiable curiosity about the world. They’re not afraid to strike out on their own, but they also take pleasure in sharing travel with their children and grandchildren. Reading through the submissions reminded me of why we love writing for this remarkable group of discerning globe-trotters.
