Each month, Andrew Harper editors have the chance to vent in print about various travel annoyances. We wanted to give members a chance to share some of their own. We asked, “What’s your biggest travel pet peeve? What drives you crazy when traveling?” It was the rare response with which we did not agree.

Some common themes emerged: crowds, noise, bad service. Members mentioned dim lighting in hotel rooms several times, as well as an inadequate number of hooks for hanging clothes and towels (precious few accommodations couldn’t benefit by doubling the number of hooks). And is it any surprise that various aspects of flying ranked highly among people’s grievances?
