We were amazed to see that of the top 10 winners of this award fully half are Aman resorts. Famous for the pared-back chic of its accommodations, the company has put no less thought into the design of its various swimming pools. The dramatic example of the top pick, Amangiri, partially surrounds a giant outcrop of rock in Utah. Of course, Aman has no monopoly on beautiful water features. Those of the Caruso, Cipriani and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc rank among the world’s most glamorous places. A great pool can truly be the making of a world-class resort.
