Song Cau, Vietnam

The main building of this sybaritic Vietnamese resort occupies the top of a ridge overlooking a stretch of unspoiled coast. On its wide terrace, the azure waters of an immense infinity pool lead the eye to emerald tropical forest that fringes a broad, golden beach. Large enough for laps, the pool is a sublime place for a swim. But I must admit I spent more time in the cushioned, bamboo-framed loungers along its edge, blissfully sipping limeade infused with lemongrass and mint (and occasionally something stronger).
