Few destinations rival the magnetic allure of New York City, where world-renowned museums, cutting-edge fashion, a globally influenced food scene converge. New York is a dynamic, inspiring and sometimes exasperating city. We still love the plush surroundings and high levels of service provided by Midtown grandes dames, and we have great affection for more intimate Upper East Side retreats, which are perfect for lovers of Central Park and the Museum Mile. But don’t discount character-rich boutique hotels in vibrant downtown neighborhoods such Tribeca and the newly fashionable Financial District. Most New Yorkers agree that their city is at its best in fall. Summer’s heat and humidity are replaced by a succession of clear, blue, sunlit days.
