Endlessly fascinating Berlin is, of course, steeped in history, art and culture, but it also boasts an exciting food scene and world-renowned nightlife. On our latest trip, we experienced different sides of the German capital by staying in two contrasting hotels, each epitomizing the neighborhoods in which they are set. This video highlights walk-throughs of them both: the historic 385-room Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, located on busy Pariser Platz, just a block from Mitte’s iconic Brandenburg Gate, and Orania.Berlin, a 41-room newcomer in Kreuzberg, a gritty, bohemian quarter where street art proliferates. In nearby Friedrichshain, we drive by a part of the Berlin Wall that still stands, showing graffiti art, including the famous satirical painting of communist leaders Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker kissing, called “My God, Help Me to Survive This Deadly Love.”
