Each year, our editors take thousands of photos while traveling around the world (but of course, the incognito nature of their travels means no selfies). After every trip, the design team enjoys going through the images they’ve captured. Because we keep the identities of our writers secret, they don’t receive due credit for their photography. Here, at least, we can highlight some of our favorites from their 2025 journeys.
The Taj Mahal in Agra almost always looks impressive in photos. But here, the monument looks especially magical thanks to fog rising from the nearby Yamuna River. The crowds have yet to arrive, and the handful of people who are along its base provide a sense of scale.
A walk around the untouristy Rajasthani town of Chauth Ka Barwara was a favorite excursion during our stay at Six Senses Fort Barwara. The colorful main street has a lively energy without feeling crowded; it was the India I remember from a decade (or two) ago.
