Kangaroo Island is located 70 miles southwest of Adelaide at the entrance of Gulf St Vincent. The flight from Adelaide to Kingscote Airport takes 30 minutes. More than 90 miles long but with just 4,500 inhabitants, this is a wild and magnificent place. Owing to its dramatic scenery and teeming wildlife, the island is often referred to as “Australia’s Galápagos.” The majority of the island has never been cleared of vegetation, and a quarter of the total land area is set aside in national parks, conservation parks and wilderness protection areas.
