Charleston’s Boutique Newcomer: The Pinch

Visitors to the lovely city of Charleston, South Carolina, now have the option of a new boutique hotel. Located at the heart of the historic district, at the junction of King and George streets, The Pinch features 25 accommodations, a mix of King and Loft rooms, ranging from 370 to 585 square feet, plus one- and two-bedroom suites and residences. These are contained within two restored Victorian buildings (included on the National Register of Historic Places) and a new construction. The former Bob Ellis buildings house the hotel’s lobby and spa, while the Lequeux-Williams House, previously a private residence dating to 1843, contains the main restaurant, as well as a lavish third-floor penthouse.

All accommodations come with full kitchens, washers and dryers, and baths with walk-in showers and hand-painted terra-cotta tile floors. At the time of this writing, the property’s two restaurants are scheduled to open in “summer 2022.” The Quinte Oyster House will feature an 18-seat marble bar and serve a daily selection of fresh seafood, while The Pinch Restaurant will offer a menu combining French and Charleston Low Country cuisines. The hotel has partnered with a 24-hour gym, Pivotal Fitness, located a two-minute walk away.
