Even Editors Need Advisors

It’s always a pleasure to share an Accolades for Our Advisors column. I’m so glad to see that members are, by and large, having extremely positive experiences with the planning services of our Travel Office.

I’ve worked together with many of our advisors for years — in some cases almost two decades — and they’re as dedicated to the ethos of Andrew Harper as anyone. My editorial team and I regularly consult them about what members are saying, and we chat with advisors about what discoveries they’ve made on their own travels. We ask them to arrange editorial trips as well, not only because of their expertise but also in case something goes awry.

They’ve rescued me from disaster several times. There was that missed flight from Botswana to Namibia, for example. My advisor got me new tickets and a very nice hotel room by Johannesburg’s airport, and I made it to my remote desert lodge the next day, as planned.
