Staying abreast of new luxury hotel openings is one of our favorite pastimes at Andrew Harper — it keeps us dreaming about where we’ll go next. We hope to anonymously review the properties below sometime soon. Hotel Bardo, Savannah

Spoiler alert: We’ll be publishing a roundup of new Savannah discoveries in an upcoming Hideaway Report. Alas, the 149-room Hotel Bardo didn’t open in time for us to review it (we only managed to dine there). The former Mansion on Forsyth Park has now reopened under the new name and new ownership after an extensive renovation. The flagship of the new Bardo brand, this red-brick hotel stands in the city’s Victorian-era neighborhood, but the décor is contemporary-eclectic with a strong dose of art deco. Guests have access to the members-only Club Bardo in the original mansion, which is also home to the excellent Saint Bibiana restaurant. The courtyard pool will be the place to cool off in the summer.

Warren Street Hotel, New York City

Firmdale opened a third property in Manhattan in February (we already recommend the other two, The Whitby Hotel and Crosby Street Hotel). Located in fashionable Tribeca, the 69-room Warren Street Hotel has floor-to-ceiling windows that reference the neighborhood’s old warehouses, and inside, “every inch [is] joyfully infused with Kit Kemp’s sense of fun and love of storytelling.” Minimalists, beware. This property looks like a bright, colorful alternative to The Greenwich Hotel, a recommended hotel nearby that contrasts with its copious use of leather and reclaimed wood. Certain accommodations have terraces or gardens, and on the top floors, residence-class suites and junior suites include kitchenettes.
