Many Andrew Harper members have enjoyed cruising on the Peruvian Amazon aboard the two superb riverboats operated by Aqua Expeditions. The company has recently launched a superyacht in the Galápagos Islands: the Aqua Mare. Fourteen crew members are complemented by two naturalist guides to cater to the needs of a maximum of 16 passengers. The 163-foot-long vessel contains just seven sea-facing suites, including an 860-square-foot Owner’s Suite with exclusive steward service. The yacht’s classic nautical décor features veneer-lined walls, brass fixtures, teak decking, white sofas and curated prints of endemic wildlife. A sundeck comes with a barbecue area, an outdoor workout zone and a six-person Jacuzzi.
Other amenities include a water-level swimming platform, a library, Wi-Fi and a television with personal streaming services. Two custom tenders each carry eight guests on shore excursions. And six double kayaks, two single kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkeling equipment (including wetsuits) are also available. As with other Aqua boats, the cuisine is under the supervision of star chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, who helped put Peruvian cuisine on the international map by emphasizing the quality and uniqueness of local ingredients and flavors. The Aqua Mare cruises at 17 knots (19.5 mph) and has a range of 5,500 miles. Its stabilizers help to ensure that the yacht’s passengers travel in comfort, even far out into the Pacific Ocean.
