OUT IN THE WILD

My travel schedule still manages to shock even longtime friends, and nothing seems more surprising to them than my numerous safaris. Many people regard venturing into sub-Saharan Africa as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But considering the vast diversity of the immense region, there’s every reason to return. This time, it was the great plains of the Serengeti that drew us back. We’re always happy to stay at all-inclusive safari lodges, but all-inclusive resorts in Mexico haven’t usually appealed. A luxury version in Punta Mita proved to be quite the exception. Also inside you’ll find our review of a new weeklong Royal Scotsman journey, a selection of bragworthy polar cruises and some notable Andrew Harper news.
